Finding a room to rent in GTA is crazy

I am looking for a place to stay in the Toronto area. If you are looking to rent out a room or know someone who is, please let me know!

Because I’m going crazy with this process.

A. Message/email/call 10 people after combing through tons of listings.

B. 4 people don’t respond, 4 people say it’s just been rented out.

C. See 2 remaining places. First place sucks, or the person renting it has a lot of rules written into the agreement. Second place is good, everything is good. Tell the landlord you’ll sleep on it.

D. Wake up and find out the room you liked is rented out.

E. Rinse, repeat, continue to hate your life.

Not sure...I know it’s in the Atlantis hotel in Dubai, but I couldn’t even find the room.

This is the closest one I could find. It costs too much to live in an aquarium.

You might have luck using an agent, actually. When I was searching a few years back I replied to an ad that turned out to be put up by an agent. In a single evening he took me around 7 different places. I ended up picking a spot and was moving in by the end of the month. It was so much easier, and the commission they make must be paid by the landlord.

I also prefer searching on Craigslist rather than Kijiji.

I’ve played a ton of Grand Theft Auto over the years and never paid a dime for rent. You just have to whoop some ass.

Now imagine trying to find something in Toronto for a weird period of 4 months, it was an absolute pain!

On a more serious note, it looks like the price of rooms are now going for what bachelor apartments used to rent for 3-4 years ago.

Hahaha yeah, its not cheap.

But even rooms that are priced on the very top end of my budget don’t stay on the market for very long. So seizing something is also a challenge.
